The day starts at 8:00 am leaving with one of our driver guides Rome up to Campania Region for a fantastic tour of Pompei (the ancient city)of 2 hours with our local guide.This fascinating, petrified city, condemned to remain as such following a hot sunny afternoon in August of 79A.D. when the volcano, Vesuvius erupted, spilling lava and giant clouds of ash over the city's population. At the end of the tour we will drive through Sorrento and the Amalfi coast and end up in Positano. Sunshine, lemons, fresh fish and clear blue seas, are the first things that come to mind, when describing this part of the country. The structure of Positano is very original; its buildings cling, in tiers to the rock face. The small houses, all huddling on top of each other, so characteristic of Positano, form the subject of endless photos. The vibrant colors; the white of the buildings, forming a perfect canvas for the bright flowers which decorate the houses, and the small artisans', shops with their multihued cloths, present the visitor with a vista which is almost difficult to believe. Then there is the smell of the leather used for making sandals, and the restaurants specialised in fish dishes, and the bustle of every day life...Positano, Sorrento and Capri are summer colours on an artist’s palette. This is where the Mediterranean comes into it’s full glory offering colour, warmth and “joie de vivre”.
